what could be wrong with me physically to cause bad thoughts?

Just wondering what I could do or test for physically. I just wonder if all the blood pressure issues and being laid-off for five months finally took ita toll. Could using anti-depressants cause depression? Didn't have bad thoughts until trying lexapro and zoloft. took them for only 11 days. My pschatrist and regular doctor do not think my blood pressure medicine would do it. Worrying about my healt to much would they say. Been on omega-3 and B-6 for 4 days and have felt better. My blod pressure med is Benicar. It is a new one. Took it for over a month before any of the depression symptoms. Didn't have bad thoughts and suicidal feelings untill after trying lexapro and zoloft for anxiety.

I noticed that you had a post about suicidal thoughts on here, and the fact that you said that the thoughts seem to have started when you took anti-depressants might actually be true. In some people, SSRI's can cause suicidal thoughts (as well as mania), so if you think that this is the case, talk with your doctor/psychiatrist very soon. God bless!

Thoughts control chemicals in your brain...no doubt. However, if you can control the thoughts you can control the chemicals (in most cases). There is no trick or trying to fool your brain into thinking things are good......however......every depressed person has negative thoughts. Really think about WHY you are depressed.......I bet a string of negative thoughts and lack of control is in there somewhere. It begins with what you are telling yourself and avalanches into other depressive thoughts. Retrace your thinking steps to discover what you are saying to yourself.
