a vent

The docs don't know what is wrong with me. Not exactly anyway. I fall over (almost) when I stand up or when I close my eyes. I have foot drop. a foot drags, muscle twitches, shaking. all sorts of crap.

I have problems with neck/shoulder muscle spasms. My ulnar nerves are going bad again-the myelin is gone from around one of the nerves. I have carpal tunnel in one arm.

My feet feel like bees are stinging-if i sit down too much it's hard to get up.

now I found out I might have fibroids again too. Or something similar in the uterine area.

why? I'm only 35 and I'm falling apart.

my doc is working on figuring it a l ou out (my 5 yr old is messing with the mouse while I'm typing)

but I'm so frustrated cause I don't have answers to ANYTHING now. Everything hurts.

I'm taking topomax which has helped with the walking and talking like I'm drunk problem-and the falling over problem--which coincidentally is sometimes given to people with parkinsons. I find that very interesting.

I swear i will lose my mind if anything else goes wrong with my body before I have at least one answer to one thing.

can someone talk me down from the ledge?

Re: a vent

Have they done any testing to see if you may have a herniated disc in your spine? If you have one in the lower back it causes foot drop. I had a herniated disc and it messed with my balance like you are experiencing. My sciatic nerve was compressed and it caused me to lose my reflex in my ankle. I never knew this before but your reflexes in the ankles and knees are responsible for balance. So I know how you feel. I did eventually have to have surgery and my balance is back and the pain is gone for the most part. I no longer have to take even an aspirin.

Then you say you have fibroids. I have fibroids also. I also have endometriosis. I take the birth control pill to stop the growth of both of them. It works great. I take it continuously and only have a period about every 3 months.

So I know how you feel with some of this stuff you mentioned. I am 35 also. I was 30 when I started with the fibroids and endometriosis problem. The back problem and foot and leg problems all happened within the last year. Keep your chin up. I know it feels like you are still young and why should you have to be going through this so young. I felt the same way. They did figure out what was wrong with me and were able to help me.

I would suggest going to see an orthopedic spine specialist to get your back checked out. It just sounds a lot like a disc problem which is actually more common then you think.

Re: a vent

I had a fibroid and ovary removed in 94...

and due to daily migraines during the last 2 1/2 pregnancies I don't think hormone related stuff (like bc pills) are an option I could handle.

I'll talk to the doc about a spine mri.

I am going to go to a different neuro...hopefully something will be found out soon.

it's just so frustrating!

I have too much to do

Re: a vent

I also had bad migraines which I take Inderal for and also when I started taking birth control pills it regulated my hormone levels and I don't get headaches any more. I know what you mean though. Some birth control pills give me a headache but the Yasmin and Microgestin have eliminated them for me. Just wanted to mention.
