demulen 1/35 bcp??

hi everyone-
i'm looking for a birth control pill that will not CAUSE acne or melasma. i'm prone to developing both. i have heard that demulen 1/35 doesn't contribute to melasma and can help with acne. if you have experience or knowledge about this pill or one that does what i'm looking for, please advise!! thanks so much.

Any method of hormonal birth control, including Demulen, can cause these conditions. It's a matter of trying a brand and seeing how your body reacts to it.

Re: birth control without acne OR melasma?

I got melasma about a year and a half ago because I was on Lo Ovral ( extremely high amounts of estrogen). Try a brand that doesn't have a lot of estrogen or try a mini pill with no estrogen at all. I am on a mini right now and couldn't be happier. The only downfall is...instead of the pill being in your body for a long amount of time, the mini is only in your body for 27 hours. So you have to make sure that you don't forget to take it at the same time every night, without falling back on another method.
