For the last 3 weeks i was in pure agony, i'd never felt pain like that before and i've gone threw child birth and several shoulder surgeries (plus dislocated my shoulder once too), but the absess i had was by far the worst pain i've ever had. At times I was close to fainting from it. Then i went to my dentist (a nice man but i'n terrified of going tothe dentist at the best of times )and he told me i was going to need to get a double root canal and all i could think was kill me now pleeaassse!! But he got me in to a wonderfull Endodontist(very quickly too )and i went in got nicly drugged up by them (halcion sleeping pills ) and didn't feel a thing ...really .Years ago i had a single root canal that too 6 visits to fix and it was pure hell (and i dumped the dentist after that ). If i had only known to go to a specialist I would have !! So if you have good coverage (it was around $3200 for the to molars root canals)definatly go to the Endodontist not a regular dentist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Because that is all an Endo does is root canals so no matter how good you dentist is the specialist is better ! Even the next day I had no pain . I just wish i could go to this guy for all my dental needs (and my dentist now is great but pain free dental rules !!I've had sorer gums from a cleaning before!and my absesses are all gone to .Xmas fun here i come !
