Unhappy Facial Hair

Hi. I seem to be getting more and more stray facial hairs on my chin and I am really tired of plucking. It seems the more I pluck, the more that grow. I started with one when I was a teenager and now I have about 15. Bleaching them doesn't really work because they are so coarse. My mother recommended Nair Facial hair remover, but I am afraid it will grow back even more. Has anyone ever used it or does anyone know if the hair will grow back even more or thicker?

Thank you.

Re: Facial Hair

Nair won't cause more hair or change the structure of the hair. It may however burn your skin. Tweezing can stimulate new growth. Laser or electrolysis will rid you of those hairs permanently.

Re: Facial Hair

I think I'll be ok with the Nair. They have sensitive skin ones I think. I was just petrified that it would make more hair grow. But tweezing has only made it worse, so it's time to try something else ! Thanks for the tip (ps. if I could afford the electrolysis or laser I would do it in a heartbeat !!

Re: Facial Hair

Shaving, tweezing, Nair etc. will not make more hair grow. That's just an old wives tale. If you are getting more hairs, then you are just getting more hairs, it isn't from tweezing. If anything, tweezing over time can actually kill the hair follicles. Nair can be very irritating to your skin so test it as the directions tell you first or you may end up with a raw face.

I finally broke down yesterday and did the chin area and upper lip area and it worked really well (took me a few times on the coarse chin hair, but the upper lip worked awesome). My daughter begged me to do hers as well, so I did and now we are both upper lip hair free ! Thanks.
