Hi!
I get them too!
I am wondering, what foods you eat, because I have noticed that when I eat too much sugary things, I am in "BIG TROUBLE"! I start breaking out in all sorts of very painful white spots on the sides of my mouth, and tongue.ALso, you can get them from illnesses....such as a cold, and or stress-related things, and lupus, also, from bad teeth! I used to read about "cankersores" .In the Kaiser Handbook that I have, it says:"Cankersores are painful open sores on the inner membranes of the mouth and cheek.Possible causes of cankersores include injury to the inside of the mouth, infection, genetic predisposition, female hormones, and stress. The sores usually heal in 7 to 10 days.
Prevention: Avoid injury to the inside of your mouth:
*Chew food slowly and carefully.
*Use a soft-bristle toothbrush and brush your teeth thoroughly but, gently.
*Avoid foods that seem to cause sores.
Home Treatment:
*Avoid coffee, spicy and salty foods, and citrus fruits.
*Apply an oral paste, like Orabase(Orajel and creams and or gels like that...look in your local pharmacy type stores, in the teeth section)
to the cankersore. It will protect the sore, ease pain, and speed healing.
Other over-the-counter cankersore medications include Gly-oxide,Amosan,and cankaid.Ambesol may help relieve pain.
{White spots, sores or bleeding in mouth, may be:cankersores, thrush. If unexplained sores last longer than 14 days, call a health professional}"
