Question Ortho Novum???

I have been on Tri-Sprintec (generic OTC) for 5 months now, and I feel awful!!!

I was already a super duper emotional person before I started on the pills, but now it's even worse. I can cry if the wind blows the wrong way, or I drop a penny on the floor. It's terrible. And my poor boyfriend thinks it's all his fault, because I normally am with him when I cry the most. I am super depressed all the time, don't want to spend time with my roommates; I always stay in my room.

Another thing I have noticed is that I'm very snappy, especially towards my boyfriend. And I have lost a lot of sleep--I'm never tired at bedtime, only during the middle of the day.

Today in one of my classes, I was talking to a classmate about my problems, and how I wanted to switch to something else. Another student overheard and suggested Ortho Novum...she had switched from OTC to O-N a few months ago and she loves it.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with Ortho Novum or its generic version...any help would be great

(I do have an appointment scheduled for next Friday w/ my doctor, I just wanted some opinions from actual users first)

Re: Ortho Novum???

I can actually answer your question perfectly because I was having the exact problem with the pill called Ovcon-35 and I also had problems with breakthrough bleeding on that as well but I would cry non-stop and make myself sick for crying so much so my doc put me on Necon 1/35 which is the generic for Ortho-Novum and so far I have felt much better and everything seems to be going great so far!! This is only my first month but things are already getting better. The only downside is that I seem to be gaining a little bit of weight but that's probably from just eating so much and not doing anything but yea you should try it. It's not for everyone but I love it!
