Shoulder pain

I'm new to this board, never posted before to a message board, but hoping for some assistances with RA. I am on Methotraxate, 8 per week. I'm doing well now that the Metho. was increased, but still have shoulder pain. Swelling has gone done in my joints and pain is less everywhere but shoulder. Would the metho help the shoulder if it wasn't RA related? I have also started doing Yoga which has helped a great deal with the pain.

Re: Shoulder pain

Hi SS1,

Welcome. I am not one of the regulars, but just post here every now and then. I have RA, also. I do not take Methotraxate, but take Prednisone, ultram, skelaxin, and relafen. They help a lot. When I have flares, I have to increase my doses.

I am not sure about the Metho helping your shoulder. Maybe you have something else wrong with your shoulder?! Have you had it x-rayed or anything else? It might could be frozen shoulder or something that has been over used, slipped out of place, or just worn down???

I also, am supposed to be doing Yoga! My rheumatologist, suggested it. I do walk a little. Any kind of exercise, is supposed to help arthritis. Especially, walking, stretching and swimming.

Hope you get some more answers in the am.
