I'm getting frustrated....

I can't get my blood sugar down in the A.M..and wonder if I should give it more time..or see a specialist. Ok..my blood sugar runs between 150-170-s in the morning. I am on insulin now..Lantus..as of three weeks ago. The dr. increased it from 10 units in the evening..to 15 units in the last couple days. When he did that..he said decrease my amaryl in the AM to 2 mg instead of 4mg. So I take 2 mg. of Amaryl in the AM...and 1000 mg. glucophage in the evening..along with the Lantus insulin shot. No change! Grrrrr. During the day it's fine..but I have a feeling decreasing the amaryl in the AM. is going to have my blood sugar run high throughout the day..more so than it did. It was fine before. My question is this..how long should I do it the way the dr. says..before reporting it? In other words...how long before I see results? I'm so frustrated and a bit confused. I was diagnosed I had diabetes back in Sept..only a little over 5 months ago. Does it take time to adjust to all of this?

Well..I guess it's good to know I'm not the only one ..taking time to get it just right. I'll hang in there..and I do call the dr. frequently.
