I have woken up 2 mornings now with a sore throat, and is gone within 1 to 2 hours and I feel nothing else for the rest of the day except my normal sneezing which has kicked up a little.
It feels like a cold is coming on in the morning but after a while I am fine. I do tend to sneeze all of the time but have done more yesterday and today.
Does anyone think this is just allergies? I really don't have any other symptoms.
although it is quite possible to sneeze with a cold, it sounds as if it is allergies. you sneeze b/c something is tickling the inside of your nose(so to speak) so it could be sinus, which goes hand in hand with allergies. the mucus in your nose is runnig down the back of your throat while you are asleep which makes it sore. when you wake up it eventually goes away. you start sneezing as well b/c of that same mucus. im far from a dr., but thats what it sounds like to me.
The way I realized I had allergies is that it seemed like I was always sick when no one else was. Have you been in contact with anyone who's sick?
Also if it lasts for a long time, it's most likely allergies. I have been getting allergy shots for 2 years and they have done wonders for me. Do you have any pets that have been in your room more than often? That could cause it as well, and as the other poster said post-nasal drip will cause a sore throat.
most definitely allergies...waking with a sore throat and it disappearing (as well as cold symptoms) within a couple of hours...is always an indication of allergies...especially if it happens more than once in a short period. the sore throat is from sinus drainage.
Don't know if this is Allergies or Cold??
