Aciphex..take at night or in morning?? With or W/O food??

Would it be better to take aciphex at night or in the morning?? I have reflux all day but my main problem is at night. Also, I know you are supposed to take nexium on an empty stomache, but it says aciphex can be take with food. Is it more or less effective taken on an empty stomache?

I was prescibed that, and supposed to take it in the morning. Let me know how you do with it, It was hard with the side affects, mainly dryness, and tiredness.I think 30 minutes before a meal. Good luck, Dana

Tiredness...just what I need...I already have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Well, I'll cross my fingers. Nexium just stopped working for me and I am afraid of the damage the acid is doing to my esophagus.

Hi Natalie,

Have you had an endoscopy? With the chronic fatigue how do you tolerate Nexium? Are you med sensitive? I think we are similar. I have the fatigue, with pernicous anemia and must take b12 every 6 weeks. Let me know what happens with the aciphex. How long have you had reflux? Take care, Dana

Natalie,

I've also had problems with PPIs losing effectiveness. I'm told that you can build a tolerance for the drugs, however this tolerance is temporary. Therefore, after a month or so you can go back to the original drug that worked for you. That's what I'm hoping for as Prevacid worked really well for months until recently.
