Is it possible

After getting a cold couple months ago, ended up with sinus congestion.
Now after taking nasonex and then nasacort for 4 weeks, still feeling stuffy.

My family doctor is sending me to an allergist. But I've never had runny nose, irritated eyes, etc before. How can I have allergies. He said it can creep up on you slowly over time.

So is it possible to be allergic to something and just get sinus congestion?

Yes and no. I don't get the runny nose either, but I do have the itchy eyes and nose. Has your doctor ruled out a sinus infection?

it could definitely be allergies. ive had them as long as i can remember and some times all i get are cold-like symptoms. im pretty sure allergies can flare up at any age too.

Re: Is it possible

I'm been trying to get my doc and ent to get me a CT scan. You have to be near death just to get anything done around here. Both turned me down.
I might have a sinus infection but I was on anitibiotics, didn't work.
All the phlegum/mucous running down my throat. Sounds more like sinus infection to me but what do I know, I'm not the medical expert.

I'm not congested constantly 24h a day. I get congested, then partial clearing. It comes and goes. Worst when I'm in a room with more heat.
Feels best when I'm outside in cooler air.

Re: Is it possible

Well, since you've got the allergist referral, he/she will be able to give you answers. If you have allergies, then he can take care of them. If the allergist doesn't think you have allergies, then you will finally be sent to the ENT. So eventually, you'll get it taken care of.
