Actually, Retin-A works to make your scars look better. It takes a while, but it is like a gradual skin peel.

Your skin will be dry and peel, but it will make the tone and scars look better in the end.

Personally, I don't have any experience with Mederma, but other people on here have used it, and said it doesn't work.

Do a search for mederma/ acne scars on this site.

Retin A is a prescription, you need to see your doctor to get it. I got it from mine and used it for twelve weeks and it only made my acne worse. It made my skin really dry too.

I've tried Mederma on 2 types of scars for around 3 months:
1) Acne scars - might have minimally faded them, but then again it could've just been my body healing over time.
2) Raised scar on my arm - I've had this scar for years, and the Mederma lowered it to skin level and has helped to fade it.
Others may have different results, but I'm guessing that Mederma is most beneficial for raised scars that are the result of surgery or deep cuts.
