xanax w/d update:

Sorry all for my "strange" posts prior...just read some over and realize how "out of it" I've been! One week today, NO XANAX, only had to take dalmane on a couple nights, used melatonin and tea in between. My taper started March 7 and the 3rd wk was HELL! Not sleeping great yet, and bowel issues, sick feelings and just drained!! depression seems to be full boat right now. Just praying each day gets better? I will never take another benzo in my life! I have tons of pain pills left over and I won't resort to them either! Reading the success stories in the ********** is so encouraging!! Strange thing I just noticed I don't have the tingling in my lips and mouth, nor the "adrenalin" feelings in my arms. I think I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel?

Re: xanax w/d update:

well done at last, glad to hear that you're finding the light at the end of the tunnel, stick with it, it's worth it! I've heard L-Tyrosone can be helpful for getting your energy back and if you're not on any anti depresents you could try 5-HTP and St Johns Wort, quite an effect mix together.

Anyhow I wish you all the best, the sleep will come back everytually, especially once you accept that you don't care whether you get it or not (take's the pressure off.)

Re: xanax w/d update:

Thanks Blaster and Dave! Do you think it would make it any quicker if I completely stopped the 15 mg dalmane? I've gone 2 days, then Friday took one and none last night. Today I am feeling really sick, due to the "needed fix"? I just cut the capsule in 1/2 and thought maybe try to wean a bit more?

Re: xanax w/d update:

One week and no xanax! Congratulations!!!!! That's great and i am so happy for you. It will get better. please continue to keep us posted on your symptoms...I will be having them soon and its nice to know that you aren't alone. I have just started crossing over to valium so no w/d yet.

Just a suggestion, I read in one of my daily readings written by a woman who used to take sleeping pills each night because she worried that if she didn't get 8 hours sleep that she wouldn't be able to do much and would feel tired the next day. One day she just threw them away and decided that when she couldn't sleep, she would pray for other people. And she did and all was fine. I am going to try to remember that, because it would be easy for me to get all anxious about not getting enough sleep. I can see that Kind of getting me out of myself.

Take care,
Donna
