Bad vison with Ortho-Cyclen

Hi - I've noticed a few threads about women having issues with diminished sight after being on Ortho cyclen / Tri Cyclen. It also seems to be an issue that is SO hard to find any research / info on!
Anyway, I had poor vision quality when taking OrthoCyclen also (quite bad actually), and let me tell you - if you can switch to something with Desogesterel (OrthoCept or Mircette) it may help.
I realized this after struggling with poor vision for so long, then one day my doc mistakenly prescribed Ortho Cept. I waited until the last minute to fill my scrip, so I had to take it for a month. That pill didn't agree with me, except my vision was perfect after about three weeks of taking it. Didn't realize that the improved vision was a result of the different pill, until I went back on OrthoCyclen and lost my perfect vision within a couple of weeks. *cry*
I've been taking Mircette for 11 days now and I already see an improvement in my sight! I hope to be 20/20 again by this time next week!
Obviously, it may or may not work for everyone - but if the vision thing has been troublesome for you too, it might be worth a shot! good luck --
(ps - So far, I *love* my mircette (kariva!))

Re: Bad vison with Ortho-Cyclen

When I was on OTC Lo, I had a spot develop in my vision. A floater. I switched to mircette for other reasons and it never got worse, but never got better. I still have the floater, and its a year later. Anyway, I *loved* mircette!! But I had to stop taking it because the pill in general gave me high blood pressure.

Re: Bad vison with Ortho-Cyclen

I wonder if the floater could be from the pill?
So far so good on the Mircette. My daily headaches are (for the most part) gone too, either because I'm not straining my eyes so much or the lower estrogen in mircette. So far I'm happy happy...

Re: Bad vison with Ortho-Cyclen

I wonder if this could be my probelm as well. I have recently been give a prescription for glasses (that i have yet to fill) and maybe it could be related to my birthcontrol as I have recently started a different brand (tri-cyclen). I never even though about it. Although my eyes seem to have progressively gotten worse and its only for reading - my glasses are - and it is only in one eye that it is worse and even then its only barely in need of a prescription its something like 0.25. Any feedback? thanks.
