Unhappy Teeth hurt, Medicaid, Need your help

Start out. I try to take good care of my teeth, but i sleep a LOT. I have fibromyalgia, possible CFS, Auto Immune Disorder, HypoT, Eating disordered and take lots of pills and vitamins. I brush and use that mouth wash stuff. I cant floss cuz my teeth are so close together that it takes FORCE to get between my teeth and then when the floss finally goes through i done hurt my gums bad and they are bleeding mad. Its been like this since i was a child, im 22 now. Past dentists said that if i keep brushing it would improve my gums, but all ive seen was de-provement of my teeth and gums.

I currently have medicaid... and Physicians Health Plan of Southwest Michigan. Obvioiusly the only dentil work that is covered at this time is cleanings and removal of the tooth. I dont want to go in for a cleaning and have them take x rays wich ARNT covered, and do all this stuff, i have NO idea what is covered and whats not. It HURTS. My teeth hurt. Im on 150mg Tramadol BID and its gotta be bad if i can still feel the bad pain of my teeth over my pain meds.

I dont know how to go about to get the information. Medicaid itself doesnt really seem to know what they are doing, the dental offices tell me to talk to medicaid, medicaid tells me vise versa. I'm stuck in the middle. I want my teeth to feel better. If not ill just rip them out myself, i done it before with babyteeth (greedy for money..) thing is, it'll be my whole top section that'll be gone. I'm lost and confused. This is where i'd call my mom for advice, but i normally get "your an adult now, figure it out for yourself" and i done tried already and failed her. So im asking you, if you can help me save my teeth... i understand if you gotta put me down in the process...

KittenPaws, actually medicaid covers cleaning.
I had my teeth cleaned from a dentist who accepted medicaid.
You need to call Medicaid in your state and they will give you a list of dentists in your area who accept medicaid.

No one is ever gonna put you down! Least of all me- We are here to help eachother, and that's just what we do.. Medicaide won't help with your teeth.. Try getting into the local comunity health clinic- they have low cost dental care..
It's hard being young, on your own, and you don't know what to do..
My son is the same way! Has had a tooth that has been bothering him for 4 years-! He's just scared-don't be scared of trying to take care of yourself- and thus, your family..!

Re: Teeth hurt, Medicaid, Need your help

My fiance and I are on Govt Income (SSD And SSI) So bills are really tight. Getting Xrays are EXPENSIVE! (we still gotta pay his off) and he has 8 cavities to fill that we gotta pay one by one ..... now i know not to go to THAT dentist and all so i gotta find another because he isnt paying like a good boy LOL.

Battle Creek, Mi isnt that big, ill have to do some diggin around. Maybe hit the mother bank. Just hope i find something!
