I have had allergies for as long as I can remember. I always took over the counter stuff and was fine. Then when I was 27 I had a baby... and now I am extremely sensative to medication.
Now everything I take for allergies makes me shakey - gives me heart palputations - and makes me want to jump out of my skin. Id rather feel foggy and itchy than that.
Lately I have just suffered thru it... but as you all know this year is worse than usual. So i broke down and went to the dr today - and he perscribed the following:
Petanol for the eyes Nasacort for the nose
and
Allegra 180
Dare I even try the Allegra? I am so scared of feeling racey and getting heart palps!!!!
I am sorry you're having problems but I experience the same thing. At present I am trying to find an antibiotic that I can take. Understanding
your problem I would suggest you first try the pediatric dose of Allegra to see how you react to it. I think it's Allegra 30. That is what my dr's are trying with me altho I've also been allergic to it but at least you don't have so much of the med in your system. Good luck!
You've probably taken antihistamines with a decongestant. That will make you hyper.
Allegra 180 doesn't have a decongestant. The one with it is Allegra-D. You should be fine.
^ I agree.. if it has a "D" with it, it has a decongestant which is known to cause those side effects. I try to avoid decongestants except for when I am sick and don't have a choice, simply because of those symptoms. I take Allegra 180 every day with no racy feelings or heart palps.. it works good.
