any1 have or used Norplant ? ?

Curious if anyone has or HAD Norplant? (little toothpick size birthcontrol implants good for 5 years)

What was/is your experience with them?

Would you recommend them to others?

A friend is asking. My experience with Norplant is from 17 years ago & not one I would recommend.
Just wondering if they made improvements in the product or what? And what current users of this BC may feel?

From what I heard, they took norplant off the market in the last few years. I believe that "norplant 2" is coming out next year. I don't really know why it was taken off the market, i think it had to do with problems removing it.
