Question First Breakthrough ever on Alesse after 4 months

I have been on Alesse since february and I am almost into month 5 and I have never had a problem with breakthrough bleeding, until now. The strange part is, that I just stopped my period about 12 days ago and I'm not sure what constitutes "break through" bleeding. I'm actually bleeding like I would during my cycle...only it's old blood. I'm confused because I have no idea why this would start now after all these months with no breakthroughs. Anyone experience something similar??

Break-through bleeding or spotting can happen now and then, and it usually isn't cause for alarm. Women who have been on the pill for years might spot one month, but have no problems the next. Unless it happens next month, you probably have nothing to worry about. If the spotting continues, consult your physician. You may require a stronger pill, or one with a different chemical composition.
