Disability from osteoarthritis?

I am not sure what to do. I have been in excruciating pain for about 3 weeks. Several times I could not get out of bed due to the pain. It has got slightly better as I can now walk and get up but getting up hurts ALOT moving hurts ALOT! I had a laminectomy last year on my lumbar spine and have been ok as far as pain until the last three weeks. I am jobless and I am very concerned b/c I am a medical assistant and I can hardly walk let alone go to an inyerview where they will see I can barely move, and if given a job I think i would lose it b/c of my pain and somtimes not being able to even get out of bed. I have no income and I am going to apply for TANF through the state but they require you look for work. What am I supposed to do? What have you all done to keep OA from wrecking your life? i am only 26 years old. I have tried Tylenol Arthritis, Extra Srength Tylenol, Aleve, vicodin, percocet, and skelaxin. Nothing really helps with this pain. I did go to the spine specialist and had an MRI so i am sure nothing else is wrong. Please Help!

Re: Disability from osteoarthritis?

If you haven't been to your doctor in those past 3 weeks, PLEASE go! He needs to prescribe something to help you with the pain. I've had terrible pain in my knees which made getting up and down extremely painful but my rheumatologist is helping tremendously. I'm able to walk without much pain. I've got RA so my hands are still another story. You're message sounded almost like me a while back but hang in there and see the doctor soon!

Good luck
