constipation

I often go long periods without pooing, like i poo just once in 2 weeks. I hardly every poo but it has no serious effects on me. i feel perfectly healthy. the only problem is i get constipated a lot and my poo is really big so that nearly every time i go poo, the toilet clogs up. i push so hard to get the poo out that my eyes tear and i sweat and after there are little red dots on my face, which i guess are fine blood vessels on my face that popped from the stress. i wonder if my constipation is due to my diet and how i could fix it.

Something just isn't right here. What do you eat? That kind of irregularity can lead to colon cancer. You realy need to see a doctor about constipation when it is that severe.

Hi jandee,
I think you need to take a water soluble fiber suplement like Metamucil or Citrucel.Both are bulk stool forming agents that will produce regulaity.Both are safe to take daily. Start off slow because they will produce gas. You also need to drink at least 8 glasses of water daily. Some exercise is needed. Constipation is usually caused by not enough fiber and water in your diet. All fiber is not alike.Water soluble type make you have a gentle BM.
