If you keep a food diary, you can identify alot of the things that bother you. And yes the tomato thing means pizza, spaghetti too. I know, bummer
If things don't start getting better for you soon, yes I would go back for the proton inhibitor pump drugs. Then once on those it would be time to really start adjusting your diet. Surgery can sometime fix this problem but is a last resort if a diet fails.

I have alot of heartburn trouble but not true, diagnosed GERD. The things that bother me are, anything with any type of tomato sauce. Donuts kill me

Anything with alot of fat. If I wear tight pants I'll get heartburn. Eating alot at once. Eating and laying down. I take rolaids like candy. They seem to work best and in a short amount of time and yes it's ok to take them with the zantac or the ppi's. I still eat pizza now and then even when I know it's going to bother me. I just load up on zantac first and rolaids after but it's worth it sometimes
