hey, i was just wondering if hydrogen perioxide on your face for acne. I mean it seems kind of reasonable to me because it prevents infection by like killing bacteria right? WEll then won't it kill bacteria on our face and prevent acne?
I remember that Paula Begoun used to recommend it, and no longer does because of something about oxygen and free radicals. I used to use it, but had some scarring.
lol... funny you write this. A few weeks ago i was at my boyfriends house and there was a huge zit on my chin with a head the was killing me so i decided to squeeze it. Then i realized i didnt have any of my soap or anything out of my regimen that i could put on it to prevent infection .... so i saw hydrogen peroxide and used it. Well i know it's supposed to bubble or fizz little but i didnt expect it to turn all the skin white!!! it looked about 100 times worse than the zit itself. So then i put polysporin on it and covered it wiith a bandaid because it looked THAT bad...lol
well needless to say it ddnt get infected... but it DID scar.
SO MY POINT??? lol.... don't use it. I actually wash my face... pop it VERY VERY gently ( ONLY if it has a head) swipe it with ***** hazel ( which is also my astringent) and then put a layer of bactroban ( dr prescrbed) over it and usually it's gone in a day.
