Has anyone had good experiences with Triphasil?

My gyno just switched me to triphasil because of a complete lack of sex drive. Apparently it has the precursor hormone to testosterone or something. I have been on. . . Ortho tri cyclen, demulen, ortho novum, necon, depo, the patch and most recently mircette. My husband and I have been married for over 3 years and nothing is working. I am allergic to latex, no doctor will give me an IUD because I have never been pregnant(won't fit properly), we can NOT have children right now and we are desperate for something that will help in the sex drive area. Please someone tell me that my doctor is on the right track with this pill?

Re: Has anyone had good experiences with Triphasil?

When I was on Triphasil my sex sex drive was through the roof, but my body never fully adjusted to the changing hormones each week (every week both the progestin and estrogen levels change). Eventually, the excess testosterone effect (derived from the progestin in the pill) caused my hair to rapidly start falling out. (Apparently I am sensitive to testosterone effects...)
There are a lot of girls out there that take a bcp that have more testosterone-like effects and are fine. (Some progestins have more of these effects than others i.e. levonorgestrel. Try it and see how you feel. My advice is just to keep an eye on your body...it will tell you if something is wrong. Good luck!
