Arrow My Kariva Experience

Thus far, I've been on Kariva for two weeks. I know it's not long enough for my body to adjust, but I wanted to post some of my experiences anyway that I've noticed thus far. I would like to keep track and see if this changes and thought it might be helpful for other new Kariva users or individuals thinking about using Kariva.

So far I have noticed I am tired more often. I have already gained 5 lbs and hope that it's just my body adjusting from the switch. I feel myself becoming irritable, but not super ANGRY irritable like on Ortho Tricycline. I was mad crazy on those pills! I just get a bit irritable and moody and sometimes depressed for no real reason on these pills. Again, it could be the adjustment period (I hope so anyway).

I do notice a huge change in my chemical make-up right before and during sex. I get overly wet. It's nice to have my own lubrication but it's almost too much! Has anyone else experienced this? I am happy however that so far my libido has NOT changed and my ability to orgasm also has not changed.

Has anyone else experienced any of the above on Kariva? Thanks!

Re: My Kariva Experience

I have had nothing but positive effects while taking Kariva! I've been on them for years and they are awesome! I have noticed that I get "wetter" during sex also. But it's not a problem at all! I actually lost weight on these pills and I'm never bloated or irritable! Plus, because you only have 2 days of "inactive" pills ( the green ones), your period will be really light (mine only lasts from 1 day to 3 days and is so light I only wear 2 tampons a day!!) I can't say enough good things about Kariva! I plan on taking them right into menopause!

Re: My Kariva Experience

Thanks Mystic! Do you mind if I ask how old you are? In the beginning when you switched to Kariva, do you recall being a little depressed or slightly more irritable than normal? I am just curious if I am feeling this only because my body is adjusting. I am not ANGRY like I was on Ortho Tricycline, but I get a bit snippy. Things seem to irritate me easily.

I am looking forward to the light period. I had lighter periods anyway on Ortho but they lasted for 5-6 days.

Thanks again for whatever info you can provide during this transition!

Re: My Kariva Experience

I am 37. Actually, I've never had any depression or mood swings on these pills! But I take Prozac every day also, so that may have something to do with it. I think Kariva is an excellent choice in pills and I know several other people who take it and they all say the same thing as me!

Re: My Kariva Experience

I am 32, almost 33 so I wanted to see if we were in the same "hormonal age bracket" for lack of a better term.

Thanks agian for the info! I'll keep posting my progress.
