Bladder Infection From Catheter After Hysterectomy

Hi -
Has anyone ever had a bladder infection caused from a catheter? I had a partial hysterectomy 3 weeks ago. Started noticing some back pain, low grade fever, and pain in my bladder area when I urinated. My doctor did a urinalysis and put me on Macrobid for a bladder infection, he said probably caused by the catheter.

Has anyone else had this and what were your symptoms? How were you treated for the infection? Did it clear up?

I think this is pretty common. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids, at least twice what you normally would. Sorry you are in pain.
