Post Delayed Gastric Emptying????

Hi there,
I have been having trouble with heartburn, nausea, etc. for a while. I was treated for H. Pylori last year which cleared up the burning in my stomach, but I still had problems.

I read about delayed gastric emptying, thought I had the symptoms, and asked my useless specialist to send me for a test. He did. And, I think it proved me right.

I have to wait 2weeks for the official result but from what the technician said, my stomach didn't empty properly. I was under the machine for an hour - then he said something about it not moving fast enough, and told me to come back in another hour. Still, he didn't seem like the food had moved properly.

Anyone else had this??? What can I do if I do have a delayed stomach emptying problem?? I have tried every acid drug and PPI and they don't help much at all. Also, why would I have this if I was otherwise healthy?? I would be interested to hear from anyone who has been diagnosed with this.

Thanks in advance!
Emmy

hey! i don't have delayed gastric emptying, but i was tested for it...the reason the ppi's won't take care of all of your problems is because delayed gastric emptying doesn't really have a whole lot to do with acid reflux...of course, you can have both and symptoms of one can complicate the other, though. i'm not 100% positive, but i think that if you have this problem they put you on a drug called reglan...i do know for sure that this helps stuff move through your stomach quicker...don't know how, don't know why good luck, hope this helps
