Question What Could This Be?

My doctors have recently told me they think I have Parkinsons. I have lip tremors, particularly noticeable when my mouth is not closed. For the last 4 weeks i have been taking the generic for Sinemet. I believe it has reduced the tremors a little bit, but for the last 3 days at least 3 or 4 times each day I can feel the inside of my nose twitching. It doesn't last more than 5 seconds each time, so when I grab a mirror to see if it is obvious to others, it has already stopped. I have been able to see it, though, twice. The end of the nose never moves, but on each side of the bridge I can see the nose going "in and out". Could this be an effect of the drug? Or is it just another "tremor" which goes along with Parkinsons. I'm 72 so doubt seriously that it could be a "tic", but I can't find anything on tremors inside the nose. Any thoughts??

Re: What Could This Be?

You could call your pharmacist and ask about the side effects of Sinemet. The list is long but involuntary twitches is one. The pharmacist can tell you if it is anything to worry about. Or call your doctor and let him/her know. You should always let the doctor know when anything new comes up or something changes.

Re: What Could This Be?

Riveter....have you asked this or any other Parkinsons questions on the Parkinsons threads. Those people over there are probably alot more knowledgeable than us over here in the Neuropathy threads when it comes to Parkinsons.....

Re: What Could This Be?

6foot3 ---- Thanks for the advice. Since my doctors are not sure about the diagnosis (they're just 70 % sure) I'm looking at all avenues.
