Exclamation Can't Breathe...

I was diagnosed with "anxiety" in April, I constantly WORRY ABOUT MY BREATHING...and I'm sooo sick of it. I constantly feel like I can't breathe. I worry all day long that i'm going to stop breathing. I know this sounds crazy , but i'm always trying to control my breathing (DOES ANYONE ELSE DO THIS?)I'm also scared to be around people because I FEAR THAT I'LL PASS OUT and look stupid. I've been on Zoloft, Buspar, and I am currently taking Welbutrin XL... nothing has seemed to help though. I feel like nobody can help me and I'm so scared that i'll never get over this. I can't get any relief.

Re: Can't Breathe...

I have breathing problems due to anxiety also. I usually just try to tell myself over and over that I only "think" I can't breath...that I am in fact breathing fine, and that my body knows very well how to keep itself alive. I just focus on remembering that I AM getting enough oxygen, and that my body is fine.

Re: Can't Breathe...

i do the same thing with my breathing. i am constantly aware of how fast or slow i am breathing. i think it is anxiety related more then sleep apnea related. i just try to distract myself from it. when i am not feeling anxious i notice i dont think about it.

Re: Can't Breathe...

My breathing is the main thing that sets off my anxiety attacks, I feel as though I cannot breath right. Like something in pressing on my chest not allowing a full breath. If I let my mind run with it, I will have a full blown anxiety attack. First I can't breathe no matter what position I am in, then my heart races then the fuzziness of everything all around me.

I have allergies, so once my sinuses act up all of the above gets worse.

It sucks, I know.

I am on Day 3 with a heart monitor that I will have on for a month. Any heart problems need to be ruled out before I can officially be diagnosed with anxiety. Its strange having the monitor is kind of a comfort
