Liver, Gallstones or Pancreatitis

Hey everyone

Im 26 with crohns disease and arthritis. When i was diagnosed with crohns i also had a very bad pain in my upper abdomen, between both my ribs, just below my sternum. it went away and was on and off through out the years but wasnt that bad.

since november or so the pain has been really bad. sometimes i would also get a butterfly feeling which would kinda take my breath away. the pain got really bad and i went to my gp who gave me protium and it did help but then stopped. i went to my crohns doc who gave me steroids and i got an endoscopy back in jan and it came back fine. the pain started again a few months later and its still v bad. ive had an endoscopy again and a cat scan and both came back perfect, tho i dont think the cat scan went high enough

went to my crohns doc on wednesday and he wants me to get a barium xray and an ultra sound to rule out gall stones and pancreatitis. im just wondering if anyone else has anything similar to me or if you have any suggestions. its just hard to cope with the pain any more

when it gets severe it goes around my right ribcage and into my back, i need to bend over and hold my breath until it goes. its worse when i eat but also at night i cant sleep either. im feelin nauseous too and am doing anything i can not to be sick

would appreciate any advice
xx

Re: Liver, Gallstones or Pancreatitis

Just curious if they have done a cbc, liver panel etc? Blood tests can show somethings that help narrow things down without going thru alot of other tests as in ct , us, barium etc. Keep us posted. Mfife31

Re: Liver, Gallstones or Pancreatitis

Pancreatitis usually is accompanied by a low grade fever. Gallstones can be the result of liver damage. Have your doctor, refer you to a hepatologist or gastroantologist.
Cut and paste the link for more information on Crohn's disease:
