Question bruises

So i have been getting bruises very easily lately and im not sure why, i wrestle around with friends but i'm the only one who ever gets any bruises and theres always quiet a few. I also have a small faded bruise (but still noticable) on my thigh from where i hit it on a couch, its over a year old now. i also have a bruise on the side of my calf that is also faded but still there and its about an inch in diameter. i got this from being hit by a paintball gun 3 years ago. When i first got the bruise it was about 3 or 4 inches in diameter and multiple colors. i am just wondering if anyone knows why my bruises arent going away after this long of a time. please help. thanks oh also i just turned 19 years old so i should be able to heal sooner than this shouldnt i?

Re: bruises

Make sure your blood Iron levels are o.k. for starters. Then make sure you have lots of vitamin-C and Bioflavanoids ( supplements and/or citrus fruits ) as they work together to make your blood vessels and capillaries strong so they wont break easily.....

I don't want to scare you but I had a friend that had the same problem. Only sometimes he would bruise for no reason. He waited and waited to find out what was wrong and he ended up dying of Leukimia. Sorry but you need to be seriously checked out!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fact that you bruise easily can be a sign of malnutrition: lack of vitamins B12, C, or folic acid, but that's the obvious. The not so obvious could be that you have a blood clotting disorder like von Willebrand's disease, or thrombocytopenia.

You should take this info to your Dr. as he probably didn't cover all possibilities.

Wish you luck!!
