Question someone, i have a question?

this question if for my mother. she has type 2 diabetes and is always feeling bad. she's checking her sugar every day and taking glucophage twice a day. my question is can she apply and receive a disability check? i heard that diabetics can. if so, how would she go about doing it? and what kind of things would she need beforehand, like doctors and things? thankyou for responding.
