Hi friends, I have just discovered what looks like a wonderful resourceful community. I look forward to many insightful postings and conversations.
Now I am hoping someone can help me or rather my 14 year old daughter.
She had sinus surgery in mid April. It was to fix her left sinus, which never really grew from the size of a toddler, and a deviated septum (which is common). She was having constant infections each spring, getting worse as she was growing.
Obviously on the left the junk was getting clogged due to the lack of growth.
The doc opened everything up, all looked great, she has been healing ahead of schedule. Here is the problem, she is still having horrible headaches (she was having them pre-surgery as well). She has been on allergy serum for over 2 years. We just got back from vacation, out of the country, she was totally clear and no headaches. So we figure she is still having allergies and instantly gets clogged up even though the scope up her nose shows nothing. I have seen it myself. No swelling. No sprays have not helped. Afrin to help breathe when I let her. I don't want her to become addicted to it. Very seldom do I let her have that. Her last semester of school her grades took a dive due to this problem. She is starting high school next week and she is a straight A, honor student who puts a lot of stress and pressure on herself. So this added problem does not help.
Sorry to ramble, but we are at our wits end. I don't like to have her on so much Advil and stuff either.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Kim
