Well, I can tell you that over the 14 years that I was on the pill - which I started taking for heavy and painful periods - never did anything to help that problem. I was on several different brands but none of them really ever helped because I was still bleeding for at least 7 days and I was still in so much pain from my cramps that I was taking Advil like candy for the first 3 days of my period.
As for acne, I never saw any improvement in that area, either. I still got breakouts the week before my period, and sometimes other times of the month as well. It never had any effect.
So if you are asking whether the pill helps improve these symptoms - for me I can say definitely not. And I've read that for others it made the acne worse. But you never know how your body will react to the pill you've been prescribed. It's very possible that it might work for you, but you won't know until you've been on it for a while.
And some women just keep trying different brands until they find one that helps. But for me, I decided that all of the other side effects I was having because of taking the pill were not worth it anymore so I stopped taking it all together. It wasn't doing anything for my acne, cramps, or heavy bleeding, so what's the point of taking it at all? It was pointless for me. But you never know, it might actually work for you. See what happens.
