Unhappy ssi disability please help

hi
i filed jan 2000 for ssi and have been turned down 2 times and went before the judge and she post poned my hearing and told me it was in my best interest to get a lawyer. so i have a lawyer who tells me NOTHING and its been 5 months since i signed with him.
So i dont know if i may get ssi or not. thats what i would like to know from anyone here if i have a chance, ok i have the following:
diabetes with nerve damage, arythmias daily, hiatal hernia, siatica, arthritis, fibromyalgia, panic disorder, depression, post tramatic stress disorder, carpel tunnel, and who knows what i forgot LOL. I am in constant pain mental and physical. when i was turned down they told me i was too young (37) and and too educated (12th grade grad) and not severe enough. please let me know if i am wasting my time fighting. Its been 3 yrs already and nothing. I really cant work too much pain. and i dont know what good my lawyer is he wont even return a call to tell me what he thinks. thank you so much for your time......Norma

Welcome to the board I'm not sure if this will be much help or not but I do know that ssi goes by your household income. There is a web site for social security.Think if you just put in that in search you will come up with a wealth of info. Also if it was me I would find a lawyer that will return calls and answer any questions I had and would deffinatily get one that specializes in disabilities.
Hope this helps and others will come along with more suggestions or experiences.
Wish you the best
Elaine
