Did anyone who started taking Birth Control pills for acne have an initital breakout? I just started Ortho-Tricyclen lo about 4 days ago and one of the reasons I started it was because of my hormonal acne. My skin was pretty much under control before I started the BC pills maybe a pimple here or there but even since I started the pills I've had about 5-6 rather large zits pop out. Did anyone else go through this and if so how long did it take to get back to normal?
Hate to tell you this but I haven't heard great things about OTC Lo and it helping acne. A lot of people say it makes their skin worse. Maybe stick it out at least 3 months though and see what happens.
Really? Well that stinks. My doctor said it's almost the exact same as OTC and that has helped many people with acne so she sees no reason why OTC-lo wouldn't do the same.
Damn, now I'm bummed. Hopefully it's just a flare up as my hormones are adjusting and then smooth sailing. HOPEFULLY.
until I came to this board, I have heard great things about BC for acne...a bunch of my friends are on it now for their acne and they have beautiful skin. I asked my one friend if it helped her skin a lot and she said that she loves BC, it just took about 3 months to see any results cuz your body has to get used to the horomones....
but everyone's body is different so you just have to try different things and see what works for you
I'm on Mircette, and have clear, acne free skin. Before I had bad, cystic acne and breakouts all the time. Now it's like I have "good skin." I LOVE it. Friends like OTC, but I love Mircette.
