Question Proactive

Is Proactive an effective treatment for acne? The commercials seem rather convincing, but part of me wonders if it is too good to be true. I would appreciate hearing from those who have tried it.

Thanks!

Re: Proactive

hey, I tried proactive about a year ago. The only difference i notice is that it made my face and skin smoother. It did almost nothing for the acne. It all depends on how bad your acne is. If its severe i wouldnt recommend proactive, its not strong enough.

Re: Proactive

I've been with proactiv for a little over 2 years now, and it does make your skin a lot smoother and it really worked well for me. I did the 3 step system once in the morning and once when i go to bed also i would use the body wash during the day once in awhile. It takes about 5 weeks or so tell you start seeing results but it does get expensive.

Re: Proactive

Proactiv has been wonderful for me. Normally I have chronic, constant mild acne on my neck, chin and cheeks and the area to the sides of my nose. I've used Proactiv for 2 years incorrectly, and finally started the complete program (wash, toner and healing lotion). Since then (3 months ago), I've been acne free. Whenever I stop using it, the bumps begin coming back. Since I've experimented with the 3 fundamentals a lot (trying just the wash alone, or the toner alone, or the healing lotion alone), I'm confident that the healing lotion is what has the maximum impact. Even if I'm too tired to wash my face at night, I at least throw on the healing lotion now.

My good friend also started using it 2 months ago and all the bad acne (at age 35) along her chin and jawline cleared up immediately.

This has been a product that really does what it says. I wish I had started using the healing lotion at night 2 years ago, but I was afraid of it being "too drying" etc etc and as a result I had 2 years of bad skin. Stupid girl. It isn't too drying at all.

The only problem I've had is with the toner - it can cause my chin and mouth area to become temporarily red and blotchy for 5 minutes, so I only use it once a day.
