Question prozac and underactive thyroid

hi

about 7 years ago I took prozac for 1 year. Since then, I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and am now receiving treatment.

I have recently started prozac again, but was worried when I read on a website somewhere that it can occasionally cause the thyroid to become underactive. Is this a well-documented fact? Could this be what caused my condition in the first place?

thanks
