Please Help!!! What exactly is Psoriatic Arthritis???

Hi everyone,

I need some help. I have been diagnosed as having Rheumatoid Arthritis, active and (I forget the other word). So, I am supposed to be taking Methotrexate and Relafen and a few other med. But surgery interferred and prob. put me back to the begining.

Right now, I am healing from a hysterectomy and do not go back to my Rheumy dr. for about 3 weeks. (This sounds familiar so if I alread said this, just ignore it!) Anyway, I have all sort of sores, rashes and other things all over my body, but not my head.

My family dr. has given me about 3 different meds to try and so far none work too good. Of course, I am a picker, but even when I do not pick, it seems that new ones crop up. Is this PA ??? I can call my rheumys nurse both women are really nice and will help by phone if possible. They are just always so booked.

Could any or all of yall, just please tell me the meaning or the definition of psoriatic arthritis? I also thought it had something to do with you fingernails??? Which I think mine are ok, for now. The finger nails, not the knuckles and such!!!
