Sexual side effects of Lipitor

Has anyone had sexual side effects from taking lipitor. I have been on it for about a year. At first only noticed minor problems. I was taking 10 mgs. About 3-4 months ago my doctor put me on 20 mgs. I am now noticing some erectile disfunction problems. I am 52 years old and do not know if it is from the drug or from age. I stopped taking it 7 days ago. My cholesterol was never that high about 265. I'll control it with diet.....

Have you talked to your doctor about this? I am 53 and have been on Lipitor 20mg., as well as Toprol 25mg., for three years. I also was having increasing problems with maintaining an erection. Talked to my Dr about it last year and he said it could be caused by either medications, age, or cardiac problems I have. He stated that while nothing surprises him, he doubted that it was the Lipitor causing the problem but more likely the Toprol combined with age and CAD. He cut the Toprol from 50mg to 25mg and temporairly cut Lipitor to 10mg. When the problem did not improve he took Lipitor back up to 20mg and gave me a prescription for Viagra, which has completely taken care of the problem.
My only suggestion would be to talk to your doctor about it, and hopefully you can both reach a conclusion to your problem.

I have been taking lipitor and i am able to report that i actually have had sexual side affects. Mostly discharge. HOpe that helps ya.
