Post Trying to wean off Zoloft

Wow, I can't believe I've found all of you who are just like me.
I'm trying to wean myself off the Zoloft too ... it's not helping with the moods and the weight gain is horrible. I'm taking 100 mgs and for four days now took 50 mgs. Today I noticed the "vertigo", sea sickness, nausea ... I freaked and took 75 mg tonight, but still feel like crap.
Two years ago I was taking Paxil and got pregnant. My PCP told me to stop taking the meds. I became violently ill - bedridden, throwing up, dizzy, bed spins for 3 full days until I called my doctor crying and he immediately put me back on the Paxil. He said you can't just quit cold turkey.
The paxil stopped working after my son was born and now I've been on Zoloft for 1 1/2 years. 50 mgs. didn't seem to help, so now I'm on 100 mg .. .still don't feel right though. Plus this extra weight is really depressing me even more.
Should I try weaning off completely? Try a new anti-depressant? I'm so confused.

I started on Celexa which was really great but had to stop becasue i lost my insurance. Then in like November of this year I was put on Zoloft thru a different insurance since they did not have celexa.

Well I started with 50mg and lost my job and they bumped me to 100mg well I started feeling even worse on 100 than with the 50mg. My chest was always tight, I was burping even when I did not eat and I was having heart palpitations nausea etc. Well I asked my doctor about weening off of it but she suggested I shouldne and did not listen when I told her that I lost my insurance again and do not have 300 to throw out a month on this stuff. Well to make a long story short I ended up quitting cold turkey. Now you have been on it way longer than I have been. So it may be different affects if you stopped cold turkey. Everyone is different. Side effects on me were bad for a couple weeks being tired and just wanted to be alone then I chose do the mind over matter. Its hard but it helped.I had no choice.
You should as they always ask your doctor if you have one. Maybe you can try something else. I just hated Zoloft because it made me feel more horrible.
I wish you luck. You can ask about Celexa but I am not sure how bad your depression is.

Hope things work out for you
