ADD drugs and Anticonvulsants

I have been mis-diagnosed for the past 13 years with bipolar/severe depression/severe anxiety blah blah. I am 28 and currently on Concerta, Trileptal (it's similar to Tegretol), and Klonopin. I am concerned about the effects of taking a stimulant during the day and a strong dose of anticonvulsants at night. I have only been on the Concerta for a few days and I feel like I'm on speed. Is this normal? Has anybody else taken this strange combination of pharmaceuticals?

Re: ADD drugs and Anticonvulsants

I take adderall and also Lamictal which is an anti-convulsant. I have been on this combo for over two years now-no problems. If this is your first time taking a stimulant it is no surprise that you feel like you are on speed. It will feel better once your body gets used to it. Just take what is prescribed and don't quit taking any of them cold turkey. Talk to your pdoc if you are really worried about it.

Talking Re: ADD drugs and Anticonvulsants

I have been on ADD meds for 8 years and since I am also diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder as well as ADD...I have taken depakote, lamictal, tegretol and now trileptal (all anticonvulsant/mood stabilizers). As well as about every antipsychotic on the market. I also have been taking klonopin predominately for 6 yrs till recently...I am now taking ativan. I have been on all kinda med cocktails with out any problems due to mixing meds. You will be just fine. Just my 0.02 cents

Re: ADD drugs and Anticonvulsants

Thanks for your input, ladies.
This is my first experience with a chat board/room, so I haven't been sure what to expect. I appreciate everyone's help!
Am feeling a little better-I've realized that I have to set myself on a schedule with this crazy concoction of pills.
