Switching from Yaz to Yasmin b/c of $$

I have been of Yaz for almost three months. Everything seems to be ok. The only thing to complain about is the cost. I pay $49.99 a pack! I was thinking of switching to Yasmin because it is much cheaper. With my insurance, Yasmin would be 29.99 a pack....thats a $20 difference every month. Has anyone switched from Yaz to Yasmin with good results? I am also on Armour Thyroid and Metformin.

yeah, medical percriptions drugs have really raised their prices in the last couple years. With Insurance, I pay 25.00 a pack for YAZ.. Still way too expensive. Levora is a generic version of Yasmin, and I payed 15 bucks a month for it at Planned Parenthood. It worked very very well for me.
good luck

Actually, Levora is NOT a generic substitution for Yasmin. There is no approved generic for Yasmin. Levora contains a different progestin than Yasmin, and has more estrogen than Yasmin. In order for a product to be an approved generic, the chemical ingredients must be identical.

Yaz is almost identical to Yasmin. They both have the same progestin, and the estrogen dose differs only by 0.01mg. That's a really small amount. Consider price shopping pharmacies or talk to your doctor about a prescription for Yasmin or another drug that is available on your insurance formulary.

I wish I was only paying $25.00 for Yasmin.. my insurance must be crap.. I pay $51.00 a month for Yasmin. If I continue to have no negative side effects, then I'll stay on it cause it will seem to be worth the cost.
