Optivar

I was given Optivar to try on my severe allergy eyes today, by my Dr. I was wondering if anyone else has tried it, and how you did with it?

Thanks-

Re: Optivar

Hi,

I was given Optivar today. I have not tried it yet. I will start using it tomorrow. I have a follow-up appointment in 10 days. The doctor said that he saw a lot of dander in my eyes but my eyes DON'T itch. They are just red and it seems like something is in my eye all the time. He said I have Dry Eyes too, but I need to treat the allergies first.

I guess my question is...do you have to have itching to have eye allergies? Oh btw did your doctor tell you to refrigerate the Optivar?

Re: Optivar

Hello-

The first dose has helped a lot! So, I feel enthused about the outlook with this stuff.

I don't think an itch is a requirement for eye allergies. Mine have burned like acid was in them, caused me to have to pull over the car and wait! I think allergies can act lots of ways with the eyes.

The doc didn't say to fridge the drops, and I didn't read it on the box or info sheet. Should I do this?

Re: Optivar

I am glad to hear that the drops have provided you have some relief. My eye doctor told me to put the drops in the refrigerator. If your doctor didn't tell you to, then you probably shouldn't. I guess every doctor has a different way of treating patients. The burning in my eyes isn't that significant. I hope that this drop will help me.
