I have one for you on Prostate Cancer. In november of 2004, I went to my doctor for s/s of thyroid problems. She checked me out ran some blood work including a PSA. A few days later her office called and said everything was normal. In May 6 months later, still not feeling well (thyroid s/s, no prostate s/s) my wife who is a RN insisted I go back to my doctor. I did, I saw her partner (husband). He ran more tests. (Oh, she did the rectal thing, her notes say the prostate had no lesions, it was normal and smooth in November). Anyway a few more days pass, we get the lab results in the mail and her husband and partner wrote on the slips that my thyroid level was elevated, and attached to that was another lab slip where he dated it for 5/15/05 and it shows a PSA level of 6.67. Guess what? This lab result was dated 11/4/04. My wife called and demanded to know how such a mistake had been made, that I was nt made aware of an elevated PSA. Got some excuse, he rechecked me with the DRE and there was a tumor. Biopsy followed by a urologist, I was a 6/10 /gleason scale, stage T2a/T2b. Radical prostatectomy followed 8/29/06. Bladder function came back fast. However the other thing is still a struggle. I contacted an attorney. Any feedback?
