Skin rashes......due to allergies

Looking to find info regarding this matter. I have very sensitive skin and get skin rashes constantly. Does anyone else experience this?

Thanks,
Sharon

Re: Skin rashes......due to allergies

Boy, do I ever! As a matter of fact, although I have pretty serious respiratory allergies it was the skin that made me seek a referral to an allergy/immunolgy clinic. After the testing, it has become clear that I have over 40 things to which I am allergic (go figure) and the doc said that the skin itching and irritation is most likely largely due to that.

And I always thought it was a side effect of fair Irish skin and too much sun (or whatever).

Re: Skin rashes......due to allergies

my son (14 months) has allergy induced ezcema. he was diagnoised at about 9 months. at 10 months they started him on zyrtec and then at 11 months, they started him on singular as well. they seem to help alot, if his misses just one dose, i can tell a difference. occasionally it is still bad, i guess it is just when he is exposed to an allergen more than normal. we also use a steroid cream called cutivate. helps alot too. we go next tuesday for his allergy tests. they tested him at 10 months for all the common food allergies, all came back negative, so hopefully i'll find out next week what we can try to avoid.
good luck and hope you can find some relieve. talk to your dr. about different medicine options. they also have a new one out called elidel. don't know much about it, just that it's for ezcema due to allergies. may be worth a try.
