2 different Pills - same side effects. Is this normal?

Hi Ladies!
I am fairly new to the World of Birth Control. I only first started taking it about 2yrs ago - after I had my Daughter.
The first pill I was on was Apri. I am now on Alesse. I am my second pack into Alesse.
I was just wondering what kinds of side effects are common while on pills. Will it always be the same.
I went off Apri because I didn't like how my Body reacted to it. I was Moody all the time - and very short tempered. Not good with a new child in the house. Also I had no sex drive at all - which naturally brought up probs with my Husband. Or if we did have sex it would hurt. And I had fairly consistent dryness and iritation...especially close to my period.

And now on Alesse I am noticing the same problems. Some worse then others.

Anyone else experiencing these symptoms also? Is this normal?
Any Suggestions - or am I doomed to have these side effects with every pill.
I'm ready to quit the pill all together.

Thanks Ladies for your time. I would love any input you all have and I wait for my Drs appt to come around to discuss this with her.

Re: 2 different Pills - same side effects. Is this normal?

I have taken several different types of pills, the progestin in the pill is the culprit for the side effects you described. I have the exact same ones. vaginal dryness, irritation and depression on Mircette, Lo-ovral. I have recently switched to Ovcon 35. It has a higher estrogen which helps with the dryness and lower progestin, which has helped greatly with the moodiness. My body is still adjusting to it, but this is my first month. So far so good.
