Side effects of Plenaxis and to continue?

A brief history: Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer 11 years ago. Complete surgical removal of prostate and all lymph nodes. Chemo followed. Doctor said it came back a few years ago

My dad was on Plenaxis for a year or so and now the drug maker quit making the drug. He was scheduled for Zoladex but the doctor that is treating him now (The other left for a new practice) at Shands Hospital tells him he does not need Zoladex. He was told that he was on Plenaxis too long. A cancer treatment place in Ocala Fl says he does the Zoladex. He decision too continue will be based on the side effect of bone thinning. We have looked all over and cannot find any thing on how long you can take Planaxis or Zoladex before the side effects show up. We could use some direction and help as we are lost. Thank you Jim

I see that no one has responded to your question. I know nothing about Plenaxis, but have you tried contacting the manufacturer of this drug? They may know what the replacement drug is.
Also contact the American Cancer Society. Their info can be googled.
