Provera and clomid

My doc put me on Provera for 10 days and then a 5 day treatment of Clomid after the 3rd day of my period. I am on day 10 of the Provera and I am having some light spotting. Does anyone know, should I count today as day one of my period?

Re: Provera and clomid

I've never done clomid, but did have to report the "3rd day" to my clinic for a couple IVF treatments, and had to start bcp. They always told me that spotting isn't AF unless that is normal for you and you're a really light bleeder. Since I tended to spot before AF, even when I took Provera one time, they said to wait for "full flow". Since you have to wait until day 3 to start the clomid anyway, I would wait until it's a bit heavier than just spotting to count it as day one. When it comes to AF, spotting, timing and treatments, it isn't an exact science, so a day or two, shouldn't make that much of a difference. Good luck!!

Re: Provera and clomid

I too am told not to count day 1 of my cycle until my period is "full flow" for me. I tend to spot for 6-8 days prior to my period when I'm not on medications, so that was helpful for me to know. So unless all you do is spot for a period, I'd wait until it's normal flow, then count that as day 1. I think most people don't get their full period until they are done with the provera 1-3 days. But I think I spotted towards the end too, when I took that once. Good luck.
