i have been off Pain pills and benzos9 days. i still feel horrible. im even having pill dreams and im having dreams of the people that give me the drug.....

well not now i take Aminen. i take it for sleep and i also take it during the day. i break a piece and do that during the day.

im doing this so i can get thru the day with out feeling like crap. but i also feel like im cheating myself for doing this.

is it wrong that i take Ambien during the day also? i just cant handle withdrawals.
i just cant get thru the day with out anything. and i was thinking ambien might be ok?

Re: Questions about withdrawals

I personally dont take sleeping pills during the day cause they are SLEEPING pills and yes I do think that is a little wrong your not using the drug the way it is meant to be used so yes that is abusing a drug. You take more that you should take not the precribed dose or the way it is meant to be used. So thats only my humble opinion. I'm not here to judge you on that aspect. Instead of using them every day try to wean down. This is a VERY addictive drug and you should be careful with it. At least if you take them to sleep you can be well rested and they will work how they should. I would also try to take one every other day or what ever will make you comfortable while at work while weaning down on them. So proud of your accomplishment your doing absolutly wonderful and keep it up take this one at a time you dont want to screw up your whole body into shock. So I would work on tapering off the ambien, your dr might have a clue your abusing it and he will cut you off him self as they dont like that very much. Any signs and he might switch you another sleep med that isnt addictive then you will be stuck with no sleep and w/d's from that too. Even if he does switch to a new sleeping pill it will take a long time for it to work for you so be careful and now get clean off of there. Your trading ambien for your xanax either way that just cant be good. Wish you luck and congrats you have come a long way. KIm

Re: Questions about withdrawals

it took me about a month and a half to start feeling better when I stopped taking benzos the withdraws from benzos can last up to 3 months. It can take 8 months for your brain to heal from taking benzos. It took me about a year before i started having normal sleep patterns. Hang in there it does get better. i was taking about 6mg of xanax a day also. Just remember If you give in and take any kind of benzo you have to start from day 1 with the dt's again. It sucks it happened to me. Take care

Re: Questions about withdrawals

It took me three weeks to feel human again. I was taking oxy's, Norco's and benzo's. Hang in there it does get better. I had to go to detox for seven days. They were giving me all kinds of medicine to help with my detox. I really don't think taking sleeping pills will hurt you. Especially if you aren't getting any sleep. Right now you need all the strength you can muster to stay off of those pills. I had to have a script for anxiety at first. These withdrawals are like none other. I tried three times to quit on my own. Hang in there you can do it. Congrats on your 9 days.

Re: Questions about withdrawals

I think there is a misunderstanding.... Whoaeve has been abusing the ambien and when she is out of that she uses the benzo for the w/d symptoms that is how I understood it on the other post. So I dont think sleeping pills or benzo would be a good choice. I really think you need to wean off the ambien you know that your abusing it your using it to get through work. But one thing at a time I just hope that when you try to get off the ambien you wont run back to the other pills to help you cause it would be a never ending cycle. Good luck let us know how you are.
